Valhall Science Village – new technologies for living

Valhall Science Village is to be a national and international centre for training and research, innovations and new enterprise within the construction sector. Valhall Science Village is located in the Valhall Park area in Ängelholm and will include a construction business incubator with the working title of the Oxygen Tent.

Kick-off for Valhall Science Village – the construction sector’s new business and research park

The kick-off for the establishment of the Valhall Science Village in Ängelholm has taken place – a national and international business and research park focusing on infrastructure, housing and construction. Representatives from business and industry, public authorities and academia have joined forces to create an outstanding centre.

Valhall Science Village is now developing on the old F10 air force base – Valhall Park – outside Ängelholm. The research park is to be a meeting place between academia, society and business, and is to develop into a national and international centre.

The preparatory work on developing and realising the investment into the Valhall Science Village has been ongoing for a year and the plan is to start immediately after the summer. The initial financing is largely in place and the park is now entering a three-year phase with the gradual build-up of the organisation and activities.

“This kick-off marks the first step taken jointly by Lund University and business and industry to create a research park in which needs are driven by business and industry and which works close to the market”, says Per Eriksson, Vice-Chancellor at Lund University.

The initiative is backed by Lund University, construction company Peab, Region Skåne, Helsingborg Business Region and Sparbanken Öresund.
